🛠 Flooring Replacement Project Schedule

NEW – Elevator Lobby Evening Schedule
2nd & 3rd Floor Elevator LobbiesFriday, October 9 | 7:00 PM – Midnight
Elevator lobby access will be restricted during flooring replacement.
Residents, staff, and visitors may experience delays of up to 2 hours when entering or leaving the building.
There will be no elevator access to the 2nd and 3rd floors during portions of the installation.
Stairway access will remain available through the North and South wings only.
1st Floor Elevator LobbyMonday, October 12 – Wednesday, October 14 | 7:00 PM – Midnight
Elevator lobby access will be restricted during flooring replacement.

There will be no elevator access during portions of the installation.
There will be no stairway access through the elevator lobby area while work is underway.
🍂 Courtyard Door Seasonal Hours
October: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PMNovember: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Winter Closure: Courtyard doors will be locked for the season upon the first snowfall that sticks.

🍕 A Heartfelt Thank You to Red Swan Pizza!
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Red Swan Pizza (13663 St. Albert Trail) for their incredible generosity and community spirit.
On September 2, Red Swan Pizza treated our dedicated staff to a delicious pizza lunch as a token of appreciation for all that they do. Then, on September 10, they continued their kindness by providing pizza for our residents to enjoy.
Both events brought smiles, great conversations, and a wonderful sense of community. Acts of generosity like these make a meaningful difference and remind us of the strong support we receive from local businesses.

🐾 Pet Therapy Highlights
In September, we hosted a wonderful Pet Therapy event in the Fireplace Room! Our residents thoroughly enjoyed spending quality time, cuddling, and sharing smiles with our friendly canine visitors.

🗳️ Referendum Information Session & Voting Booth

We will host an informative session explaining the details and purpose of this month’s provincial referendum vote.
Polling Station: Friday, October 16 from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PMLocation: Fireplace Room
An on-site polling booth will be available for participating residents to cast their vote.

Important Operational Guidelines
🍽 Visitor Mealtime Guidelines
To ensure the safety, comfort, and dignity of all residents, Golden Age Manor has established the following mealtime guidelines for visitors.
Main Dining Room SeatingVisitors and family members are not permitted to sit with residents at their tables during mealtimes in the main dining room. Dining room seating is limited, some residents prefer privacy, and minimizing foot traffic helps reduce the risk of virus introduction as flu season approaches.
Private Meal ArrangementsWe warmly encourage families to join their loved ones for meals!
With a minimum of 2 hours’ advance notice, we will gladly arrange a comfortable dining area away from the main dining room for you to enjoy a meal together.
Notice can be given to the Front Desk or directly to the LPN on duty.

🤝 Join the Resident Family Council
We are seeking dedicated residents and family members to join our Resident Family Council!
Commitment: Meetings are held just once a quarter.
Purpose: The council collaborates on initiatives directly aimed at improving overall quality of life for our residents across three main focus areas:
Meaningful Activities: Expanding engaging programs, social events, and recreational opportunities.
Culturally Appropriate Care & Services: Ensuring our care honours diverse backgrounds, traditions, and preferences.
Mealtime Experience: Enhancing dining environments, menu choices, and overall enjoyment.
